Sexiest Haunted House: New Moon Scorpio - Emotional Catharsis Creeps
The Mars-Pluto opposition begins this week—catharsis creeps and will again through the first quarter of 2025. So let us pray and let us transmute! But is it worth the fear-mongering? Maybe this transit is all about having fun with the shadow. Mars has been downright grouchy and moody in Cancer, sign of his Fall, but in Leo by Nov. 6th, there’s immense creativity and inventive make-believe - like the power of laughter yoga I’m experiencing this week at an Ostheo-Thai massage retreat. When you laugh, endorphins rush and you feel better. And let’s be clear, Mars-Pluto is a sexy temple night where you get to play with power and control in a fun Halloween costume that will allow you to join the dark side for a night, and then offer it into the fires of transmuation, for this would be the All-Soul’s Day of the Dead to do a bonfire to all those egoic stories of worthlessness, of competition, of future-perfection, of past-grievance.
Here’s a gothic finger-frolic on guitar for you called Sabian Symbol from my album A Delicate Tranquility to guide you through the Balsamic Moon this wee into this weekend’s New Moon
.
And here’s a 30 minute breakdown of key November transits, the New and Full Moons, and some written prompts for this shadow-play-fight New Moon.
Friday’s November 1st’s New Moon in Scorpio, is literally on Day of the Dead—Thus, what part of us needs to be shed, or needs help from the ancestral plane to heal once and for all? Even as we seek to excavate the unconscious source of all our shadow tendencies, the fears and attachments and traumas, if we composted the past, could we finally be liberated into our true home at rest, in the embrace of our Eternal Creator?
Mars rules this New Moon and with the violence in the Middle East becoming even more extreme, and the US Elections a week away, we know that the gritty, competitive bloodsport boxing match of Mars-Pluto has and can get real ugly. To expect to wake up November 6th, with a clear vision of the US presidency and future sounds like a sinister haunted house thriller voice laughing hysterically. Most astrologers agree that is likely not going to happen. I explain more in the video—are we really being tested as to where we place our intention and attention, and to realize how this then becomes our reality?
As Mercury in Scorpio opposes Uranus all this week, erratic or volatile communication could instead be replaced by that simultaneous Mercury trine Neptune’s spiritual epiphanies—an ideal time to write your creative/contemplative awakenings with a deeper soul-truth we’ve been investigating, maybe about the function of consciousness itself.
This Month’s New Moon Scorpio + Mars/Pluto PROMPTS:
What’s the healthiest creative obssession I can focus on this next few weeks?
Can I open to an alchemical catharsis through power play sexuality? What are the effects of being more dominant or more submissive? If fears arise, what are their voices? Allow their wisdom to open new realms of the unconscious into conscious, playful awareness.
What other fear occupies your thoughts today? Then, reflect on a fear you've outgrown. How did that growth happen? How does it feel to free yourself from the chains of holding a fearful or angry thought if you offer it to the Source of all emotions, to the Great Spirit?

There are many spiritual pathways that can assist us at this critical turning point in collective consciousness. What I love about Shaiva Tantra is that its worldview allows for such divisions and polarizations because one of the powers of the Divine is to ‘forget itself.’ But this power is always eclipsed by the ability to ‘remember,’ through grace, which in Sufism we practice through dhikr - chanting the names of Allah, praying 5 times or more a day, remember we do nothing on our own, all is done through Subhana Allah, the glory of God, in’shallah, God-willing.
What if Pluto could be empowering the darkest shadow expression of the Mars in Leo ego to make so blatant and obvious the heavy burden of separating thoughts and behaviors?
To forgive all opinions and judgements during an election season is one of the great tasks of the spiritual warrior. And A Course in Miracles may argue that choosing between images of this world, including political candidates is still choosing different versions of the same illusions. Can we really polish the doors of our perception so cleanly to the point that we do not “see the error?” What kind of freedom could we find in each moment if we let go of all these Mars-Pluto attack thoughts? “In my defenselessness is my salvation,” says the Course. Holy Spirit, I have a perceptual problem. Please help me see an already healed world because I perceive through the eyes of Christ—the sacred heart of forgiveness which brings all judgement to end in the Oneness which is Love?
If all this feels like too much for us, can we just offer our judgment, a painful trigger point that rises this next week, to our Source, whether Krishna, Christ, the Goddess, Mama Gaia herself? Can we send loving-kindness (Buddhist “Metta”) to all beings especially ourselves as the unconscious erupts with both its dragons and fairies?, and Grace gives all its signs and synchronicities to bring us back home into the Embrace of the One? 1! <3 !1
